Remedial Massage Essendon
Remedial Massage or Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body, through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, by either following or crossing over the muscle fibres, fascia and tendons.
Remedial Massage is for those experiencing muscular dysfunction, injury, pain and tension. Using postural corrective exercises along with techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release and assisted stretches (static and dynamic stretches including ART, PNF & MET), remedial massage assists the healing process of injured muscles, provides relief from pain and tension, and helps to reduce the risk of further injury.
What to expect in your session:
Your remedial massage therapist will ask you to outline your current complaints, may perform some preliminary testing and will then inform you of the treatment plan. During your massage a firm level of pressure is applied, incorporating appropriate remedial massage techniques as determined by your therapist. As each of us experiences treatment differently the therapist will ensure that the pressure applied is always within the tolerance range of the client. Following your treatment, you may be given stretches or strengthening exercises.
This style of treatment helps loosen muscle tissues, releases toxins from the muscles and gets blood and oxygen circulating properly. It's important to drink plenty of water after a treatment to help eliminate toxins from the body.
